Black Bass Lake - Trail Building Work Days

Black Bass Trail Work
Progressive Trail Design and Eastin Outdoors in conjunction with the Inn of the Ozarks and Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation will be hosting two trail building days Sunday April 18th and the 25th at Black Bass Lake City Park. Lunch, water and beverages will be provided to all volunteers. Raffle drawing for prizes and hike and ride after work.

The work will center around completing a route that will connect historic Oil Spring with Black Bass Lake. Work at hand will be constructing a 12 foot stringer bridge and ground work on about 1/2 mile of trail. The route has already been flagged and the corridor has been cut. Much of the route is on historic paths and will simply need to be raked. Several other sections will require moderate bench cut. The trail follows a bench along on a ridge and is flanked by 10-20 foot bluffs. Rusty remnents of days gone by litter the route from when the bluffs housed make shift businesses and residences. This will be a very cool addition to the exising trail system.

This portion of trail is also planned as a section of the "Eureka Springs Trail Interconnect" that will eventually provide trail access from Black Bass Lake City Park to Lake Leatherwood City Park and the greater Eureka Springs Community through spurs to local businesses and other public access points.

Where:
Meet at Black Bass Lake at 10am
To get there from the Inn of the Ozarks in Eureka Springs: Head west on Hwy. 62 for approximately 100 yards. Turn left on Oil Springs Road (a steep dirt road down a hill). At the bottom, turn left and follow to Black Bass Lake Parking.

When:
Sunday April 18th & 25th
